Stray Thoughts

Sometimes the periods of life we wish would pass quickly or dissolve altogether are the ones we need to slow down and soak in. Because while it is in those experiences that we suffer true pain, true grief, and true hardship.... we also find true love, true joy, and true peace. In essence, we find hope . . .a treasure worth the ache. Wars are won with wounds. Hearts heal after hurt. The cross was born in agony. Our sins he bore in pain. But amidst the broken lives, he lived to rise again.

If I ask nothing more than to survive this trial, I have lost sight of a portion of the purpose. The journey is what changes me. The day-to-day weeping and crying, doubting and asking, waiting and trusting is what makes victory all the more sweeter. Like a soldier who pauses to scan a torn battlefield, I am enthralled by the beauty of Christ in this fight. His presence makes EVERYTHING glorious.
